FOUNDATION

The place to start! For dogs and puppies of all ages.
Build the foundation you will need for good manners and behavior for the life of your dog. Learn how to get and keep focus, teach reliable sits, downs, stands, stay, come when called, walk nicely on a leash, as well as impulse control and the proper way to greet other dogs and strangers. Puppy management skills also addressed.

INTERMEDIATE / MANNERS

Suitable for dogs of all ages who already have the basic foundational exercises, this class provides distractions, progression, fine tuning, proofing, and problem solving for: Walking on a loose leash (no pull), come when called, sit, down, stand, stay, not jumping up, the polite way to greet other dogs and strangers, continuation of impulse control, good manners and other appropriate behaviors for a well behaved dog. Great for rescue dogs and teenage/adult dogs needing to brush up on manners and basic obedience as well as dog/handler teams intending on continuing towards competition obedience. Introduction of new exercises useful in every day life/competition work, beginning off-leash control, and preparation for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. Dog/handler teams are worked and progressed at their individual level in each class. A real workout for both dog and handler!

BEGINNING COMPETITION OBEDIENCE

For handlers and dogs new to or currently exhibiting in the novice levels of competition obedience. All aspects of preparing you and your dog for the competition obedience ring. Dogs and handlers work at their own level with individual attention for problem solving, fine tuning, and improving performance. Learn how to teach heel, solidify sit/down/stand stays, improve recalls (come), and start/polish off leash work. Handler presentation, ring etiquette, ring patterns, rules, regulations, and common handler errors are also addressed. This class is also suitable for handlers wanting off leash control for Advanced and Excellent levels of Rally.

For handlers and dogs working off leash at the advanced levels of competition obedience. Learn, problem solve, fine tune, and improve: jumping, retrieves, scent articles, signals, recalls, go outs, off leash heeling and out of sight sits/downs.
Dogs and handlers work and progress at their own level.

RALLY OBEDIENCE

ALL LEVELS: NOVICE, INTERMEDIATE, ADVANCED, EXCELLENT, MASTER
Rally is a fun and fast-paced dog sport where your basic obedience skills come into play on a 'course' similar to agility. You and your dog progress through the course signs doing sits, downs, stands, turns, recalls, jumps and other fun moves. The beauty of Rally is that you are encouraged to praise your dog every step of the way! It's FUN for the dog and handler as the courses change so neither of you get bored. A great introduction to competition obedience!

CANINE BALANCE & CONDITIONING

A great way to exercise and keep your dog in condition YEAR ROUND. Build core strength and endurance to help prevent injuries and improve gait and balance. Dogs will learn, practice, and progress on exercise balls/peanuts/pills/eggs, vestibular discs, and rocker boards, as well as work ground exercises and stretches which will not only tone and contition, but will also improve performance in conformation, obedience, rally and agility. Great for dogs of all ages and conditions, and FUN! The dogs LOVE it!
Prerequisite: INTERMEDIATE/MANNERS class. Dogs must have reliable sit/down/stand, be calm around other dogs, and have short, smooth, rounded toenails.

STAR PUPPY, CANINE GOOD CITIZEN (CGC), AKC COMMUNITY CANINE (CGCA) and NEW TRICK DOG certification/testing is available upon request (or listed below if scheduled).

We recommend taking the "INTERMEDIATE/MANNERS" class prior to testing if your
dog needs a bit of fine tuning on any of the 10 test exercises.

CONFORMATION HANDLING

All breed conformation handling. This is a TEACHING class, not just run throughs.
For those new to the 'art' of showing, novices who need more polish, and 'old pros' who are training up a new dog, needing to solve a specific issue, or just fine tuning. Stacking, gaiting, table work. Advice, tips, tricks, exercises to improve structure and performance, problem solving, and troubleshooting. Together we will discover the best way to present your dog!
Females in season are welcome in class (wearing britches).
NO People aggressive and/or dog aggressive dogs please!
Class IS held on show days and some holidays. Exceptions are listed in red below.
